We use it as both an assessment and a baseline lower half exercise. The glute bridge, when done properly, is both an excellent core exercise that stabilizes healthy balance in the hips, pelvis, and lumbar spine and a critical part of functional, every day human movement.
Unfortunately, many people mess it up. They go about it with the main thought being, “accomplish a task”. When this is the case, the low back is usually hyper-extended and compressed which causes inflammation and misses the opportunity to open the hips from chronic seated posture (#nevermiss).
This video will show how the glute bridge is done as well as discuss its importance for not only stabilizing the chiropractic adjustment but also connecting treatment in the office with the use of your body in the physical world.
Good Luck and Keep Moving
