Quad-Psoas Stretch or Low Back HyperExtension-Compression?

So you go to the gym and you see someone who has lots of muscles and moves really fast doing a warm-up exercise.  It looks like a front lunge, but they have their hands over their head and they tilt and twist some.  Yeah, that looks pretty cool… I think I’ll do that!

Dun, Dun, Daaaahhh!

And so it goes in so many places and in so many ways.  It is only natural to try new things and to try and fit in and do the right things.  However, looking the part and being the part are two totally different things.

We have a saying – “It’s not the exercise, it is how you understand and correctly apply the exercise that yields the positive result.”  Okay, maybe its not quite that long, but you get the point.

The Sampson Stretch to open up the front of the hip for good global extension (highly repetitive and life and exercise) is a great mobilization when done correctly; however, if done poorly it can set you up for major problems in the future or cause them directly and instantaneously.  Don’t go there!
